The U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey released by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life found how little such a religious nation knows basic Bible and religious history and how, surprisingly, the top scores on the test went to atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons.

I got a perfect score, but then again it's a pretty easy test. I don't think the link leads to the real test, but it's a small sample of the original one.

If we're going to believe in something and practice it, we should know all there is to know about it.

  1. Theresa,

Hope all is well with you. I had my third surgery in the last year on December 28th. I returned home to Moloka'i on New Year's Eve. I'm trusting that this new year will be much better for me. My first surgery was in December of 2009. It was emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. They had to give me a temporary colostomy which was removed and a resection of my colon done in May of 2010. Those surgeries precipitated what are called incisional hernias. So they repaired those this last surgery. It's been very painful and I can't return to work until February 14th. Anyway, it's been a wonderful blessing. God has transformed me in ways I had resisted in the past. I've never felt such peace and contentment. God's love is never-ending, patient, and tender.

    In His Love,
    Bill

  2. Hey there Billy!

I'm sorry to hear about your surgery, I hope you're recovering and healing. Will there be any more surgeries after this? Be sure to take a lot of vitamins and minerals and don't strain yourself. I'll be praying for you!

I saw a story on the news of a man who fell out of a helicopter and broke every bone in his body. His spine was completely shattered and they told him he would never walk (or move, really) again. Through a restructured jaw, he told the nurse that he would walk out of the hospital by Christmas.

He said in the interview that he spent the next 6 months praying and visualizing every bone in his body healed and back to normal. He even had pictures of skeletons brought in that he could look at, and he spent long periods of time in deep meditation (it was all he could do since he was in bed all day anyway.) By Christmas, he was able to walk out of the hospital with no assistance... though it was several months of physical therapy before he was allowed to go home.

So I will be praying for you because I am a firm believer in the healing power of prayer! :)

    God bless you,

    -T
